Train Smarter. Track Progress. Get Stronger.

When we moved away from constantly varied CrossFit programming, we shifted to a more intentional structure: strength-biased interval training. It wasn’t about making workouts easier or harder—it was about building a system that actually delivered long-term results.

To organize that system and balance the effort and intensity of workouts, we created three core categories: Armor, Durability, and Power.

These categories helped me plan effective training across weeks and months. But for our members, tracking progress in our training app, ChalkIt Pro, quickly became messy. Every workout labeled “Durability” got lumped together, making it nearly impossible to look back and see what weight you used—or how your performance changed over time.

In a conversation a few weeks ago, a member said,

“I wish there was a way to track my weights more easily. I can’t remember what I did last time.”

And she was right.

Even I had stopped logging my results—because it was just too confusing.

The Nerdy Solution That Actually Works

So my son and I (accidentally) brainstormed a solution on the way home from his soccer game.

That’s where the idea of naming each workout individually came from—using lesser-known comic book characters, which still lets me (in my own nerdy way) organize them by category.

Now, instead of “Workout (Durability),” the app shows “Namor” for this one, setting it apart from any other Durability workouts.

And if “Namor” comes back in three or six months, it’s the exact same workout. Your weights, scores, and notes are all stored in ChalkIt Pro—easy to find and compare. [Now obviously this is just one example]

Tracking progress just got a whole lot easier.

The Categories—In a Nutshell

Here’s what each workout type is designed to build:

🛡 Armor
The foundation of our training. These workouts hit that sweet spot—plenty of work time, solid rest, and a chance to build in weight. Great for dialing in form and building well-rounded strength.
Think: structure, consistency, focused progression.

🔥 Durability
Longer workouts with shorter rest. You’ll need smart pacing and sustainable weight choices. The goal is strength-endurance and mental grit.
Think: how well can you hold up under fatigue?

⚡ Power
Short, intense bursts of effort with equal rest. Heavy weight. Max output. These hit hardest when you know how to push.
Think: move weight fast, rest, repeat.

Why This Change Matters

If you’re showing up, putting in the work, and pushing yourself—your progress shouldn’t get lost in a sea of generic workout titles.

Now, when “Namor,” “Penance,” “Rescue,” or another named session shows up on the screen, you’ll know exactly what it is. You’ll see what you did last time. You’ll have a goal for this time.

It makes training clearer. Smarter. More rewarding.

We’re not here to chase sweat with random workouts. We’re here to help people get stronger, year after year—with a system designed to support that goal.

If that sounds like the kind of training you’ve been looking for…
