If Consistency Had a Face—It’d Be Mary Sue

If you looked up the word consistency in the dictionary, there’s a good chance you’d see a picture of Mary Sue.

She’s been a staple at Penance Gym for almost 6 years, and if you’re in the 6:00 a.m. class, you already know—Mary Sue will be there. And on the rare occasion she misses? You’ll likely find her walking in to 8:30 class, or sending us a check-in from wherever she happens to be traveling.

Mary Sue originally came to us after her time at Orangetheory, looking for a program with more strength development—something that aligned with her long-term goals of maintaining her independence, building real muscle, and investing in her quality of life for years to come.

And we’d argue she’s done exactly that.

Not only has Mary Sue continued to surprise herself with what she’s capable of, but she’s become the kind of person who inspires others by simply showing up and doing the work. Always smiling and always pushing.

That’s the kind of consistency that changes lives—not just hers, but everyone around her.
